Job Description

Preschool Teacher/Center Director:
Head Start Head Start is seeking a creative, organized individual to lead a preschool teaching team and oversee operations of a single-classroom center.
As Teacher/Center Director you will:
Develop, coordinate, and implement daily lesson plans, classroom activities, field trips, and special events Foster a welcoming and safe learning environment, that promotes overall child development and encourages parents to be active participants in their child's education Hire, supervise, and schedule center staff to ensure proper adult:child ratios and smooth program operation Maintain an inventory of center materials and supplies, initiate purchases, and coordinate facility improvements Assist Head Start management in ensuring compliance with day care licensing and Head Start Performance Standards This position has school breaks and summers off. Job Description Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field; one year teaching experience; one year supervisory experience; valid, unrestricted New York State driver's license

Technical and service skills required by duties; client service orientation; accountability for results; teamwork; adaptability; reliability; specialized knowledge of the field; consistent exercise of discretion and judgment; work predominantly varied in character; program management; performance management
Working Conditions:
Typical pre-school environment and equipment; local travel; occasional work in client residences; possible exposure to childhood diseases
Pay Range Guide:
Standard Start Rate•education and experience meet job requirements Advanced Start Rate•education and experience exceed job requirements (subject to approval)
Pay Range:
 $1,212.29•$1,333.52 per week
