Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pre-Kindergarten Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for young learners, encouraging their growth in literacy, math, and social-emotional skills. This role requires creativity, patience, collaboration, and a strong commitment to early childhood education. The Pre-Kindergarten Teacher will work closely with students to develop their social, emotional, and academic skills through engaging lesson plans and activities.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities aligned with NYS Pre-Kindergarten Learning Standards and the district's curriculum. Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment. Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles. Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress and maintain accurate records. Collaborate with teaching assistant, parents, colleagues, providers, and administrators. Communicate regularly with families about student development and classroom activities. Participate in professional development and required trainings. Ensure compliance with
NYSED UPK
regulations and school policies.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 5 year plan to obtain certification Fingerprint clearance through
NYSED Preferred:
NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2) Master's degree in Childhood Education Experience teaching in a UPK or early childhood setting
Knowledge of Play Based Curriculum Application Process:
