Job Description

Kehillah School for Early Learning offers a Progressive Emergent Reggio- Inspired approach to learning for Preschool Children ages 3 to 5. We are seeking Early Childhood Educators ready to work collaboratively creating learning environments guided by wonder and the discoveries of children.
Qualifications:
  • Must hold a NYS B-2 certification
  • Must hold at least a Bachelors in ECE or Master's degree
  • Preferred to have 2+ years of prior teaching experience
  • Must be at least 18 yrs of age
Responsibilities:
A Preschool teacher will perform the following duties in accordance with the policies of TINR, and OCFS licensing regulations, and as requested by the center director/administration:
  • Lead a teaching team in providing a nurturing, wonder-led, equitable environment that reflects a pedagogy of care and education.
  • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Collaborate with teaching team in planning and executing an Emergent- Reggio Inspired experiences for children.
  • Observe, document, and assess children's progress via anecdotal records, photos, stories, and work samples- to support each child's unique portfolio.
  • Make Learning Visible by sharing the process of learning through the documentation of class experiences, investigations, and projects.
  • Bringing a spirit of Joy to each day.
  • Maintain frequent communications with families through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teachers conferences. Also, on a daily and weekly basis via ProCare App and Newsletters.
  • Ensure all center polices, state, and local regulations are met.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Manage child behavior appropriately and report any concerns about the development and behavior of any child immediately to the administration.
  • Work cooperatively with all program providers to address the needs of children with IEP's as a support and guide.
  • Be a part of a school theme to build a Kehillah K'doshah; a sacred community and is a member of a rich school team that has a positive attitude, respects, and embraces individuality, cultural, religious, and racial differences with children, families, and staff.

  • Community resources and support services relevant to education and families
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Must have strong written and verbal skills
