Job Description

Lead Three-Year-Old Preschool Teacher Small Wonders Preschool Part-Time Position Position Overview Small Wonders Preschool is seeking a warm, energetic, and dedicated Lead Preschool Teacher to guide our three-year-old classroom. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, values learning through play, and can create a nurturing, engaging, and well-managed classroom environment where young children can thrive. This position requires strong leadership, classroom management skills, curriculum planning, and the ability to foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the classroom, including lesson planning, daily instruction, student assessment, family communication, and maintaining a safe and welcoming learning environment.

PM Compensation:
$20.00 per hour 3 paid personal days per year Summers off Primary Responsibilities Classroom Leadership & Management Create and maintain a safe, positive, and welcoming classroom environment. Establish consistent routines and expectations that support children's social-emotional growth and independence. Use positive behavior management techniques to guide children and promote self-regulation. Supervise children at all times and ensure their safety and well-being. Foster a classroom culture that encourages curiosity, creativity, kindness, and respect. Ensure all health, safety, and emergency procedures are followed at all times. Curriculum Planning & Instruction Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences aligned with preschool learning standards. Prepare weekly lesson plans that support growth in literacy, math, science, social studies, fine motor, gross motor, and social-emotional development. Lead engaging circle times, small-group activities, sensory experiences, outdoor play, and hands-on learning opportunities. Adapt activities and teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students. Create meaningful learning experiences that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and a love of learning. Assessment & Documentation Observe and assess children's growth and development throughout the school year. Maintain student portfolios and documentation of learning. Complete progress reports and participate in parent conferences as needed. Identify and communicate any developmental concerns to administration and families in a professional manner. Family Communication Build positive relationships with families through regular communication and collaboration. Provide frequent classroom updates, photos, and important announcements through the school's parent communication app. Share observations, student progress, and classroom activities with families in a timely and professional manner. Respond to parent questions and concerns promptly and professionally. Support a strong home-school partnership that promotes each child's success. Classroom Organization & Oversight Prepare and maintain classroom materials, learning centers, and displays. Keep the classroom clean, organized, and inviting. Manage classroom supplies and communicate needs to administration. Ensure all classroom activities and materials meet safety standards. Work collaboratively with assistant teachers and school leadership to support program goals and daily operations. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. Experience working with preschool-aged children required. Current CPR and First Aid certification required. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff and families. Must successfully complete all required background clearances and maintain compliance with state licensing requirements.
