New Interdisciplinary School (NIS) is looking for a passionate and creative Preschool General Education Teacher to inspire young learners in an inclusive early childhood classroom. As a General Education Teacher, you'll create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that foster academic, social-emotional, language, and motor development while preparing children for kindergarten. You'll cultivate a warm, welcoming classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and excited to learn. If you're dedicated to nurturing young minds and helping children build confidence during their earliest school years, we'd love to meet you. What You'll Do Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based lessons aligned with New York State Early Learning Standards. Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and independence. Foster children's cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development through hands-on learning experiences. Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs and learning styles of all students. Monitor student growth and maintain accurate documentation of developmental progress. Build positive relationships with families through regular communication and parent conferences. Collaborate with teaching assistants, administrators, and support staff to provide a high-quality educational experience. Support children's school readiness by promoting early literacy, math, communication, problem-solving, and self-help skills.
Qualifications Required:
New York State Certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2) or Childhood Education with appropriate early childhood certification. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
Experience teaching preschool-aged children (ages 3-5). Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice. Experience in inclusive early childhood classrooms. Why Join NIS?
