Job Overview Join our vibrant Summer Academy as a Teacher for the "Let's Create" Arts and Crafts program! We are seeking a retired teacher for this dynamic role. It offers an exciting opportunity to inspire young minds through creative expression, hands-on projects, and engaging activities. As a vital part of our team, you will foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children can explore their artistic talents, develop new skills, and build confidence. This paid position is perfect for passionate educators and childcare professionals eager to make a positive impact during the summer months. Responsibilities Lead engaging arts and crafts sessions that encourage creativity and self-expression among children of various ages. Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a positive and organized learning environment. Prepare materials and set up art stations to facilitate smooth activity flow. Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to first aid protocols, CPR, AED operation, and other health and safety standards. Support children with special needs or behavioral challenges through tailored approaches and compassionate guidance. Collaborate with fellow staff to plan age-appropriate activities aligned with program goals. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns. Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational, camp, daycare, or childcare settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated classroom management skills and ability to engage young learners effectively. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols (certifications preferred but not mandatory). Experience in arts and crafts instruction or related creative fields such as theater or visual arts is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to handle behavioral management challenges with patience and professionalism. Previous camp experience or youth programs teaching experience will be considered an asset. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
