Approximately 12:00 PM-5:30 PM, with some flexibility Position Overview Our preschool is seeking a caring, dependable, and flexible Preschool Assistant Float to join our team! This position is an important part of creating a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment where young children can learn, grow, and feel loved and valued. The Preschool Assistant Float provides support wherever it is most needed throughout the preschool. Each day may look a little different. You may assist in different classrooms, provide additional coverage, help with transitions, support teachers, or step in when a classroom needs an extra set of hands. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children, works well as part of a team, and is willing to jump in wherever needed with a positive and servant-hearted attitude.Responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance in preschool classrooms as needed.
- Float between classrooms to provide coverage and additional support.
- Assist teachers with daily activities, routines, and transitions.
- Build positive, caring relationships with children and help them feel safe, welcomed, and loved.
- Support a nurturing, Christ-centered classroom environment consistent with the mission and values of our church preschool.
- Help supervise and engage children in developmentally appropriate activities.
- Assist with snacks, meals, rest time, bathroom routines, and other daily classroom needs.
- Encourage kindness, compassion, respect, and positive interactions among children.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Work cooperatively and respectfully with teachers, staff, and families.
- Be willing to step into different classrooms and assist wherever the greatest need exists.
- Follow all preschool policies, procedures, health and safety guidelines, and applicable State of Ohio child care licensing requirements.
- Participate in required training and professional development.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
- Support the overall mission and ministry of the church preschool. Qualifications
- A genuine love for young children and a desire to help them learn and grow.
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
- Dependable, punctual, patient, and responsible.
- Flexible and comfortable working with different classrooms, teachers, and age groups.
- Positive, nurturing, and able to remain calm in a busy preschool environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A willingness to serve wherever needed and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Ability to support and uphold the Christian values and mission of our church preschool.
- Must meet applicable State of Ohio child care licensing requirements , including required background checks, training, and health and safety requirements. Schedule
