Lead Teacher First Steps Early Learning Center Chesterland, OH Join a School Where You Can Make a Difference Every Day! First Steps Early Learning Center is seeking a caring, energetic, and experienced Lead Teacher to join our growing team. We are a locally owned early childhood program committed to providing high-quality care and education through hands-on learning, exploration, and meaningful relationships. We're looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education, enjoys creating engaging learning experiences, and wants to be part of a supportive team that truly values its teachers. Pay Competitive hourly pay based on education and experience Schedule Full-time Monday-Friday 8-hour shift No weekends Responsibilities Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans for toddler-aged children. Create a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment. Foster children's cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development through play-based learning. Complete observations, assessments, and developmental documentation. Maintain compliance with Ohio Department of Children and Youth licensing regulations. Communicate professionally with families regarding children's daily activities and progress. Supervise and support assistant teachers in the classroom. Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and learning materials. Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development. Qualifications Must meet Ohio Department of Children and Youth Lead Teacher qualifications. Previous experience as a Lead Teacher in a licensed childcare center preferred. CDA, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Recognition certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to pass BCI/FBI background checks and meet all state licensing requirements. Preferred Skills Experience with child-led or emergent curriculum. Knowledge of Ohio's Early Learning and Development Standards. Experience using positive guidance and behavior support strategies. Strong teamwork, organization, and leadership skills.
