Job Description

Position Description:
School Age Lead Teachers are responsible for aligning daily activities to the K-12 Early Learning Standards, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teacher should be able to create a safe and stimulating environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. You should be good in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide co-teacher, and resolve parental concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, physical, cognitive and emotional growth with alignment to the K-12 Standards. Be able to help children with homework during the school year. Maintain communication with parents through discussions, and daily reports. Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety/security of the children. Lead by example through modeling and coaching. Supervise assistant to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards. Ensure all program policies and state regulations are met. Maintain accurate records, forms and files. Complete trainings as required.
Additional Experience:
Strong oral and written communication skills. High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents). An understanding of school age child development. Good leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. CPR and First Aid certification. (will train if needed) Must clear full background check and have a physical. The ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, alternate sitting and standing, be able to kneel, bend, and squat. Minimum of a High School Diploma a Must. Strong classroom management skills.
