Job Description
Position Summary:
With direct supervision, the Child Care Assistant aids teachers in varied classroom settings providing a comfortable and safe learning environment for students.Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Essential Job Functions:
- Provides nurturing, caring and educational environment to students
- Ensures guidelines are followed in compliance with agency policy and state licensing requirements.
- Assists with planning and scheduling activities.
- Provides direct service.
- Facilitates referrals to resources.
- Ensures that parents and program are working cooperatively for healthy growth of children by consulting with supervisor regarding successes and challenges.
- Plans, prepares and maintains program materials and supplies.
- Maintains clean, safe and secure Child Care Center, playground and play equipment.
- Participates in required Child Care training.
Additional Job Functions:
- May transports children to and from school, field trips on breaks as needed
- Works together in a team atmosphere.
- Other duties as assigned.
Necessary Education and Training:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Experience working within the School Systems or Childcare setting preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required, Associate Degree, or higher preferred.
- Strong problem solving and group work leadership skills.
- Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Access to a vehicle, must have and maintain a valid Ohio Driver's License
- Warm and friendly personality and willingness to interact with others.
