Job Description

Powell United Methodist Church Preschool is a play-based learning community dedicated to nurturing the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Our highly respected preschool serves children ages 2 through Kindergarten with a focus on hands-on discovery and creativity. Learn more about our preschool at www.pumcpreschool.com. We are seeking a passionate, nurturing, and dependable 3-year old Preschool Teacher to join our caring team. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, values early childhood education, and brings creativity and joy to the classroom. This is a part-time, school-year position (August-May), following the Olentangy Local School District calendar.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment Support children's social-emotional growth and readiness skills Collaborate with co-teachers and director Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about student progress Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness
Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred) Previous experience working with preschool-aged children Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively and positively with colleagues and families Must meet state licensing requirements, including background checks Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
Schedule:
Typical hours: Tuesday-Thursday, 8:15 am - 3:15 Follows an academic year calendar (August-May)
