This position is located at The Goddard School in Independence, Ohio, and requires dependable availability Monday through Friday until 6:00 p.m. Candidates should be able to reliably commute to our school for every scheduled shift. Do you genuinely love babies and enjoy holding, comforting, feeding, playing with, and caring for very young children? The Goddard School located at 5701 Lombardo Center Blvd in Independence, Ohio 44131 is looking for a kind, dependable, patient Part-Time Afternoon Infant Teacher to join our infant classroom team. This can be a great position for a college student, retiree, someone studying education or a related field, an experienced childcare professional, or anyone who truly enjoys caring for babies and is looking for a consistent part-time afternoon schedule. Previous childcare center experience is helpful, but just as important to us is finding someone who is reliable, nurturing, comfortable with infant care, and genuinely wants to work with babies! What You'll Do Our infants are in their first year of life, so their days revolve around individual feeding, sleeping, diapering, play, comfort, and lots of personal attention.
You will help:
Hold, comfort, soothe, and interact with infants Prepare and give bottles and assist with feeding Change diapers and support daily care routines Follow each infant's individual feeding and sleeping schedule Follow safe sleep practices at all times Provide tummy time, reading, music, sensory play, and age-appropriate activities Keep the classroom clean, organized, and safe Clean and sanitize toys, feeding areas, classroom materials, and equipment Support the lead teachers throughout the afternoon Help prepare the classroom for the end of the day Greet and communicate warmly and professionally with families at pickup Follow Ohio childcare licensing requirements and school health and safety procedures You May Be a

Really enjoy being around babies Are comfortable with diapering, bottles, feeding, crying, soothing, spit-up, and all of the normal parts of infant care Are patient, gentle, attentive, and nurturing Understand that babies need consistency and dependable caregivers Have strong attendance and take your work schedule seriously Can follow individual schedules and instructions carefully Enjoy staying busy and helping wherever needed Work well as part of a team Are comfortable communicating with parents Want a consistent part-time position rather than occasional or temporary work Experience Experience with infants or young children is preferred.
This may include experience in:
Childcare or preschool Babysitting or nannying College early childhood or education programs Children's programs Other hands-on experience caring for infants or young children Licensed childcare experience is a plus, but it is not required for the right person.
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.50 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 35.0 per week
