Building Blocks Christian Preschool 13231 SE Sunnyside Rd, Happy Valley, OR 97015 Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Preschool Teacher to inspire and nurture young learners in their early childhood development journey. In this vital role, you will create a warm, engaging classroom environment that promotes curiosity, social-emotional growth, and foundational skills through a Biblical Worldview. Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that incorporate literacy education, number recognition and use, physical education, to support childhood development. Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and fun. Plan and execute engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles and developmental stages. Use effective classroom management techniques to maintain discipline while fostering independence and social skills among students. Collaborate with parents and guardians through regular communication about student progress, behavior, and developmental milestones. Support early intervention strategies to identify and address individual learning needs or behavioral challenges promptly. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings or a degree in Early Childhood Education / Elementary Education; familiarity with classroom management and lesson planning is highly valued. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and supervisors. Job Information The posted hourly rate of $27.41 - $31.25 is accounting for the class hours for the school year with some time for set up & tear down. However, that rate doesn't include prep times. Due to short class times, the yearly salary is $9,540 for a MWF 9:00am-11:30am class or $15,750 for a M-F 9:00am - 11:30am classes. We're looking for either a MWF 9:00am- 11:30am 4's teacher or someone who would like to teach 2 classes (one 3's class & one 4's class) M-F 9:00am-11:30am. Our school year is Sept. - May (with a 2 week Christmas Break & a 1 week Spring Break off). The classroom has it's own small, children's restroom attached to it (students are potty-trained), and the teacher would additionally be provided with a resource room that is neatly organized with supplies. We have a gym with a closet (for our tricycles, scooters, balls), a fully fenced playground, and a room for our events/parties. We are located on a nice campus in Happy Valley.
