Job Description

Continuum , formerly OnTrack, is currently hiring for a qualified Daycare Teacher to join our team in Medford, OR! The Daycare Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, interactive, and educational environment for children aged infant to 5 years old. For over 50 years, Continuum has provided vital addiction treatment and recovery services. We offer outpatient and residential treatment options for adults and teens for substance abuse and addiction, DUII, domestic abuse, and other behavioral health issues.
Compensation:
$20.75/hour Employment type: Full-time hourly (M-F, 7:30a-4:30p)
Benefits:

Job Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain strong communication with parents. A clear understanding of mandatory reporting functions with regard to child safety. Ability to recognize any signs of abuse or neglect, document, and report immediately to supervisor. Create and deliver age-appropriate varied activities for the assigned classroom. Ability to re-direct child(ren) as needed to avoid confrontation or allowing a situation to escalate. Understand the specific needs of each child. Strong boundary-setting skills. Interact appropriately with children. Supports their play, exploration, and learning, using positive phrasing/reinforcement and naturally occurring teaching opportunities. Flexibility in approach to work; ability to handle immediate and unforeseen changes (
Ex:
classroom changes in child enrollment and/or staffing). Maintain a warm and caring social/emotional-focused, play-based environment for all children regardless of abilities. Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity to the unique needs and conditions of our children and their families. Maintain the confidentiality of information for each child, family, and staff member, both in and out of the Center. Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing learning environment.
Qualifications:
Enrollment in the Oregon Department of Education Early Learning Division Central Background Registry (must be maintained throughout employment). Must be STEP 6 in the Oregon Registry or have specific documentation of at least 1500 hours in a certified center. Minimum 1-year experience teaching in a classroom setting. Documented completion of 'Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse' class. Understanding of Trauma-informed care; ACES. Current First aid/CPR certification. Current food handler's card. Ability to clear background check and pass a drug screen. Continuum is an equal opportunity employer.
