We care for children ages 1-5 years old and use a play based emergent curriculum. We are currently seeking a float teacher to float between the toddler and preschool classroom. We are looking with someone with at least 20 hours of availability per week and up to 40 hours. This is a great position for someone who is looking to gain experience working with children. The ideal candidate will be kind, fun, hard working, and dependable. All licensed childcares in Oregon require staff to enroll in the Oregon Central Background Registry. This can take between 2-8 weeks to complete depending on how many states you have lived in over the last 5 years. So the sooner you apply the better. Work cooperatively with teaching team to maintain a clean, interesting, well organized, developmentally appropriate, and child centered classroom environment. Communicate with parents to discuss issues related to their child. Maintain current certification and training as required by licensing (paid for by the center) help with task's such as cleaning, snack prep, and diapering

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

1. Ability to lift up to 50lbs (for safety, diapering, comforting). 2. Follow children to monitor safety for play. 3.

Perform activities with children:

jump, dance, walk, run, etc. for periods of time. 4. Ability to interact with children, co-workers and parents in a positive manner. 5. Must be calm, nurturing, patient and respectful toward children while also having the ability to be firm and offer positive guidance. 6. Must maintain current enrollment in the Oregon Child Care Division Criminal History Registry. Must obtain an Oregon Food Handlers Card. Must complete pediatric first aid and CPR certification within 90 days of employment, and complete training in Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (RCAN) and Introduction to Childcare Health and Safety within 30 days of employment.
