Job Description
The Infant Teacher provides a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 6 weeks to 24 months. Responsibilities include meeting each child's individual care needs, supporting early development through age-appropriate activities, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, communicating with families, and following all licensing regulations and Neverland Nursery School policies. The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, and committed to providing exceptional care and education. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Early Childhood Education coursework or degree preferred. Experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting preferred. Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Current Oregon Central Background Registry enrollment (or ability to obtain before employment). Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain if required). Knowledge of child development and best practices in infant care. Skills & Abilities Warm, patient, and nurturing personality. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work cooperatively as part of a teaching team. Strong organizational and time management skills. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Physical Requirements Lift and carry children weighing up to 40 pounds. Frequently bend, kneel, squat, sit on the floor, and stand for extended periods. Push strollers, move classroom equipment, and safely lift infants into cribs or changing stations. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations. Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
