Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the smooth daily operation of the classroom. Plan weekly lesson plans aligned with state standards and the center's themes. Include individualized learning goals for each child and submit these plans in Brightwheel by the director's due date. Implement daily learning activities as outlined in your lesson plans and accurately document all activities in Brightwheel. Use Brightwheel to capture photographs of children engaged in activities.
These should be used for:
observations/documentation for assessments, and parent engagement. Complete quarterly child assessments on schedule using Teaching Strategies Gold and be available for parent conferences upon request. Maintain updated emergency files for each child. Serve as the primary contact for parents regarding their child's classroom experience. Ensure the classroom consistently meets all requirements set by state and accrediting agencies. Decorate the classroom monthly to reflect the season or theme. Organize and maintain children's belongings and classroom materials. Prepare in advance for new students (e.g., have their cubby ready and labeled on their first day). Provide individualized care to each child according to their schedule and needs. Accurately document all injuries and incidents in Brightwheel. Clean and maintain the classroom daily, following both the cleaning schedule and state regulations. Attend staff meetings, required trainings, and professional development sessions as needed. Assist with planning and participate in center-wide special events throughout the year. Lead by example by following all center policies and expecting the same from aides. Consistently uphold best practices in child care and classroom management. Help to contribute to Ducklings overall success by being a part of the team beyond your classroom; i.e. : help with special events and celebrations, help to decorate common areas of the building, maintain order in common storage areas and play space. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or Associates in ECE or CDA ( enrolled or finished)
  • Experience in Teaching preschoolers preferred
  • Strong understanding of child development theories and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning
  • Familiarity with early childhood education standards and best practices
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
