  • On Bonus Join The Seedpod Academy The Seedpod Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, highly qualified Pre-K / Kindergarten Lead Teacher who is passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating an exceptional learning environment for young children.
We are looking for an educator who views teaching as a profession and is excited about continuous learning, curriculum development, collaboration, and professional growth. Our Pre-K and Kindergarten programs operate within a Pennsylvania Department of Education licensed Private Academic School. Candidates who already hold appropriate Pennsylvania certification are strongly encouraged to apply. We also welcome qualified educators who are eligible or working toward eligibility for Pennsylvania Private Academic certification. What You'll Do As a Lead Teacher, you will have the opportunity to create a classroom where children feel safe, supported, challenged, and excited to learn.
Your responsibilities will include:
Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and learning experiences. Provide instruction aligned with Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards and The SeedPod Academy curriculum. Create a warm, nurturing, organized, and stimulating classroom environment. Support children's development in language and literacy, mathematics, science and discovery, social-emotional learning, creative expression, and physical development. Observe, assess, and document student development and academic progress. Maintain appropriate student records and educational documentation. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and families. Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide meaningful feedback regarding student development and progress. Build strong, positive relationships with children and their families. Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leadership on curriculum development and continuous school improvement. Maintain classroom practices consistent with Pennsylvania Department of Education and applicable OCDEL requirements. Participate in professional development, staff meetings, training, and school events. Model professionalism, teamwork, creativity, and a genuine passion for educating young children. Required Qualifications Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain an appropriate Pennsylvania teaching credential for our Private Academic School program. Candidates should meet at least one applicable Pennsylvania Department of Education certification pathway, which may include: A valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate appropriate for Early Childhood/Pre-K/Kindergarten instruction; or A Pennsylvania Private Academic Nursery/Kindergarten teaching certificate; or A bachelor's degree with sufficient college coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or another qualifying area to meet Pennsylvania Private Academic certification requirements; or A bachelor's degree with qualifying prior teaching experience that satisfies Pennsylvania Department of Education Private Academic certification requirements; or Eligibility for a Pennsylvania Temporary Private Academic teaching certificate while completing remaining certification requirements. If you have a bachelor's degree and relevant coursework or experience in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related educational field, you may qualify for Pennsylvania's Private Academic certification pathway. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field. Pennsylvania Early Childhood/PK-4 teaching certification. Pennsylvania Private Academic Nursery/Kindergarten certification. Previous Pre-K or Kindergarten classroom teaching experience. Knowledge of Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards. Experience developing and implementing curriculum and lesson plans. Experience assessing and documenting student progress. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience building positive partnerships with families. Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
