Job Description

The Goddard Opportunity Join a premier, accredited faculty at The Goddard School of Jamison. We are a high-level early childhood education center where the curriculum is rooted in play-based discovery and hands-on learning. We are seeking dedicated professionals who are passionate about the science of early development and eager to work in a collaborative environment to join our Pennsylvania Keystone STARS 4 rated school which has earned both National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) recognition.
Lead Teacher Qualifications & Education:
Candidates must meet one of the following educational tiers: Tier 1: A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, or Elementary Education, or the human services field from an accredited college or university Tier 2: 15+ credit hours from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or the human services field AND 1 year of professional experience AND Child Development Associate (CDA) Tier 3: 2 years of professional experience working with children AND Child Development Associate (CDA)

Lead Teacher Responsibilities:
Curriculum Leadership:
Plan and implement Goddard's play-based curriculum and developmentally appropriate daily lesson plans.
Developmental Support :
Lead intentional learning experiences that promote language, social-emotional development, emerging independence, and age-appropriate self-help skills.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stimulating classroom while establishing consistent routines, guiding children's behavior, and ensuring active supervision throughout the day.
Observation & Collaboration:
Observe and document each child's development, use those observations to individualize learning, and collaborate with faculty and school leadership to support each child's success.
Classroom Leadership:
Direct daily classroom activities, communicate expectations, delegate responsibilities, and provide guidance to Assistant Teachers and Teacher's Aides.
Professionalism:
Build meaningful, professional relationships with families through respectful, clear, and timely communication regarding children's experiences, development, and classroom activities.
Job Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED (minimum). Eligible to obtain and maintain all required Pennsylvania child care background eligibility and health assessment documentation. A "growth mindset"—willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
