Capstone's early childhood education and family services are central to its mission, offering center-based and home-based Head Start and Early Head Start programs that support positive child, family, and community outcomes that use a whole-child approach and actively engage parents as partners in their children's early learning and development. Capstone's Head Start Program is looking for a caring, energetic, and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team in our Morrisville, VT location. In this role, you'll create a fun, safe, and nurturing classroom where children can learn, grow, and thrive while partnering with families to support every child's success.
Position:
The Head Start Preschool Teacher provides a safe and supportive learning environment for young children. This position works with families to support each child's development through regular communication, home visits, and family engagement activities. The Preschool Teacher collaborates with program staff to deliver early childhood education services and ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, state licensing requirements, and program policies.
Qualifications:
B.A. in early childhood education or an advanced degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education. Vermont State Professional Educator's license in early childhood (preferred). Must be able to lift 50lbs or more. Reliable transportation, valid Vermont driver's license and proof of insurance. Other Skills and/or
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills with young children and adults. Working knowledge of community resources, parenting issues, adult learning styles, and sensitivity to the needs of low-income families. Must be able to assist preschoolers in navigating stairs, playground equipment and changing tables. Must be able to quickly catch up with a fleeing preschooler. Commitment to working collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining a flexible schedule that includes occasional evenings and weekends.
Compensation & Benefits Competitive Pay :
$22.23 - $27.34 per hour! 40-hour
Week:
Monday through Friday!
