Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic School Age Group Leader to inspire and support children during their after-school hours. In this role, you will also assist with distributing lunches to classrooms, providing coverage for staff lunch breaks, transporting school-age children in the center van, and helping to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for all children. Your leadership will help children explore their interests, build confidence, and develop essential life skills through structured activities and personalized attention. Responsibilities Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social interaction, creativity, physical activity, and educational growth for school-aged children. Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times through vigilant classroom management. Coordinate with parents, teachers, and other staff to support each child's individual needs, including those requiring special education or behavioral support. Maintain accurate attendance records, activity logs, and incident reports in compliance with program policies. Provide first aid and respond appropriately to emergencies or health concerns using certified first aid skills. Foster positive relationships with children by encouraging participation in sports coaching, theater activities, tutoring sessions, or other enrichment programs. Experience Previous experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp counseling, babysitting, tutoring, or early childhood education is highly valued. Demonstrated skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques are essential for creating a safe learning environment. Knowledge of childhood development principles and special education strategies will enhance your ability to support diverse needs. Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, or Christian counseling can be beneficial in enriching program offerings. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications related to childcare or working with students are preferred. A background in childcare or early childhood education combined with strong communication skills will help you succeed in this dynamic role.
