In this role, you will serve as a key leader in creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for our youngest learners. Your expertise will guide classroom activities, support team collaboration, and ensure that each child's unique needs are met with care and professionalism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence early childhood development positively while fostering a love of learning from the very start of a child's educational journey. Responsibilities Lead daily classroom activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development for infants and toddlers. Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula incorporating best practices in curriculum development, literacy education, and early intervention strategies. Manage classroom routines including diapering, feeding, nap times, and sensory activities to ensure a safe and nurturing environment. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to maintain high-quality childcare standards. Communicate effectively with parents and families regarding each child's progress, behavior management strategies, and developmental milestones. Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and childcare policies. Plan lessons that incorporate Montessori methods or other educational philosophies suitable for early childhood education settings. Support children with special needs by collaborating with specialists in early intervention and special education to tailor individualized plans. Maintain detailed documentation of children's development using standardized testing tools when applicable. Foster positive behavior management techniques that promote respectful interactions among children. Requirements Proven experience working with children in infant and toddler classrooms, with a minimum of three years of classroom experience preferred. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management skills. Demonstrated ability to develop engaging curriculum plans that include literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and sensory activities. Familiarity with early intervention practices and special education accommodations is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, staff, and external specialists. Certification in early childhood education or child development (e.g., CDA credential) required; additional certifications in Montessori or preschool teaching are a plus. Ability to lead by example while fostering a positive learning environment rooted in respect and compassion. Knowledge of health regulations related to daycare operations including sanitation standards for infant care.
