The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, supervising assistant teachers, maintaining compliance with Pennsylvania child care regulations, and fostering a nurturing, faith-centered classroom environment. This leadership role is ideal for an educator who is organized, collaborative, and committed to excellence in early childhood education. What You'll Do Lead and manage a classroom in accordance with PA child care regulations and best practices Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and licensing requirements Conduct ongoing observations and assessments of children's development Maintain accurate documentation and classroom records Communicate effectively with families regarding children's progress and needs Foster social-emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and physical development Integrate faith-based values into daily classroom routines and interactions Ensure proper supervision ratios are maintained at all times Participate in required staff meetings, training, and professional development Model professionalism and uphold Nurxery Christian Academy culture Required Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field with at least 1 year of experience working with children Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred but not required Additional Requirements Ability to meet PA staff health assessment requirements Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Completion of Mandated Reporter Training (Act 31) Ability to complete required professional development hours annually Physical ability to lift children, sit on the floor, and actively supervise Required Clearances (Per PA Child Care Regulations) PA State Police Criminal History Clearance PA Child Abuse Clearance FBI Fingerprint Clearance (if applicable) National Sex Offender Registry verification NSOR clearance verification documentation What We're Looking For Strong classroom leadership skills Passion for early childhood education Excellent communication and organization abilities Ability to mentor and support assistant teachers Commitment to safety, compliance, and quality care Alignment with our faith-based mission and culture Why You'll Love Working Here Paid Time Off (PTO): Enjoy generous PTO, including a paid day off for your birthday so you can celebrate your special day.
