Role and Responsibilities:
As a Pre-K Counts Classroom Aide, you will work closely with our certified teachers to create an engaging and supportive learning environment for our students.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting Lead Teacher:
Collaborate with the lead teacher in developing a creative Childcare program using the Creative Curriculum as a guide.
Child-Centered Activities:
Observe each child and provide activities to address their emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs.
Social Competencies:
Assist in setting goals to enhance children's social competencies and self-esteem.
Classroom Planning:
Contribute to classroom planning and organization, aligning with program goals and philosophy.
Parent Communication:
Maintain daily open communication, both verbal and written, with parents.
Record Keeping:
Write accident, injury, and behavior reports as necessary.
Mandated Reporting:
Report any suspected abuse to Childline and supervisor in adherence to mandated reporting guidelines.
Licensing Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all applicable licensing regulations.
Classroom Environment:
Help create a classroom environment that reflects program goals and philosophy.
Confidentiality:
Maintain confidentiality regarding student and family information.
Supervision:
Maintain appropriate child-staff ratios and supervise children at all times.
Teamwork and Respect:
Foster a respectful work environment, collaborating effectively as a team.
Professional Development:
Attend trainings and staff meetings as required.
Qualifications:
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is required as a minimum. Prior experience working with young children, preferably in an educational setting. Enthusiasm for working with preschool-aged children and supporting their growth and development. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow instructions, maintain a positive attitude, and adapt to changing situations.
