Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling role shaping the educational experiences of young learners as a Special Education Teacher focusing on early childhood students. This contract opportunity is located just a short drive from Greenville and Spartanburg, placing you in a community-oriented environment surrounded by enthusiastic staff and supportive families. As a full-time educator in this position, you'll work with young children, providing specialized instruction and fostering a nurturing classroom that celebrates individual strengths and progress.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education (Early Childhood endorsement required) Prior experience or student teaching in early childhood special education settings Strong communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, support staff, and families Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials to meet each child's needs Passion for creating an inclusive and welcoming classroom climate
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement IEP-driven instruction tailored to early childhood students with diverse learning profiles Work collaboratively with general education teachers, therapists, and related service providers Routinely assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and support needs Maintain accurate records and comply with all pertinent laws, regulations, and school policies
