Job Description

FULL-TIME HOME CHILDCARE WORKER
Hawk's Nest Home Daycare Apison, TN 37302 $15 an hour - Full-time $15 an hour -
Full-time About Hawk's Nest:
Hawk's Nest Daycare is (soon-to-be) a very nurturing, creative, and structured in-home learning environment designed for children ages 1 to 5 years. Our mission will be to provide a safe nest "where tiny wings learn to fly" — a place where children are encouraged to grow through music, movement, faith, and meaningful daily routines. As a Christian-based program, we'll strive to model kindness, gratitude, and compassion in everything we do. Simple prayers, age-appropriate faith lessons, and values-based stories are gently woven into each day, helping children develop both spiritually and emotionally in a positive, loving atmosphere. Founded by a professional vocal coach and singer/musician, Hawk Nest Daycare will integrate music education into early childhood learning. Each child will participate in music classes twice a week — exploring piano, singing, rhythm, and creative expression — while learning new songs each week.
Our program will include:
Consistently implement and uphold the daily schedule as part of a purposeful, routine-based program designed to promote stability, structure, and emotional security for the children Daily outdoor playtime (weather permitting) at the playground next door Daily themed activities and lessons focused on creativity, curiosity, and kindness Organic, home-prepared meals and snacks provided each day The Vision As a full-time real estate agent and single mother, I am intentionally creating a small, home-based daycare centered around my soon-to-be three-year-old daughter. This will remain a small, unlicensed in-home program in accordance with Tennessee guidelines, allowing for a more personal, calm, and attentive environment. Located in our brand-new construction home in Hawks Landing, this space is designed to feel safe, peaceful, and nurturing — more like home than a traditional daycare setting. My goal is to provide a safe and fun environment where children are truly known, cared for, and able to thrive in a smaller group setting, helping reduce overstimulation and illness while encouraging meaningful connection. This is also an opportunity for my daughter to grow alongside a few other children her age, and for other families in the community who are seeking a more intimate, home-centered childcare experience. I am looking for someone who genuinely has a gift for working with children — someone who is patient, joyful, dependable, and passionate about creating a loving, structured environment from the ground up. As a single mother, my goal is to continue growing and improving this environment over time, and I would love to find someone who wants to be part of that — working together to create something meaningful, stable, and special for the children Responsibilities Feed children their morning snack and lunch (organic meals/food provided) Assist with meal prep, cleanup, and safe feeding practices Transition children to nap time at 11:30 a.m. (soothing, reading, settling) Help with morning music sessions and daily learning activities Ensure a safe, positive, and encouraging environment Maintain tidiness, organization, and a calm atmosphere Maintaining a consistent daily schedule is a key part of this role and is done with intention. This program is designed to be routine-based in order to provide children with stability, structure, and a sense of security. While flexibility is important, the overall flow of the day should be followed to create a calm, predictable environment that supports each child's development. Qualifications Experience caring for infants, toddlers, or preschoolers (preferred) CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Must pass a background check Reliable transportation and punctuality required A genuine love for children and appreciation for music, faith, and structured learning What We Will Offer $15/hour, consistent weekday schedule (no nights or weekends) Positive, family-style setting with 4 or less 1-5 year olds at all times Opportunity to work in a music-enriched, faith-based environment Supportive, meaningful environment where we will work together to create and continue to make all necessary improvements along the way to make the most meaningful, stable, and special place for the children to grow daily.
