Job Description

Church Nursery Teacher (
SPROUTS Class:
Infants-3 Years) First Presbyterian Church Cleveland, TN First Presbyterian Church is seeking a caring, dependable, and faith-filled individual to serve as a Nursery Teacher for our youngest children (infants through age 3) in our SPROUTS class. This special role is an opportunity to help plant the very first seeds of faith, love, and trust in Jesus in the hearts of little ones. About the
SPROUTS Class:
We call our nursery class SPROUTS because we believe faith begins at the very start of life. Our goal is to lovingly nurture children in a safe, joyful environment while introducing them to the love of Jesus through simple, engaging, and age-appropriate activities.
Responsibilities:
Provide a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for infants through age 3 Meet the basic care needs of children (feeding, diapering, comforting, etc.) Engage children in simple, fun, faith-based activities (songs, stories, play) Show Christ-like love, patience, and kindness to every child Communicate effectively with parents and church staff Help maintain a welcoming and organized nursery space
Schedule:
Sunday mornings 9:15-12:15pm Wednesday evenings 6:30-8:30pm Additional special services and church events as needed (holiday services, VBS, funerals, community events etc)
Qualifications:
Experience working with infants and/or young children A personal faith in Jesus Christ A genuine love for children and a heart for ministry A desire to teach and model faith through fun, meaningful interactions Dependable, responsible, and able to work as part of a team
