Church Nursery Teacher First Farragut United Methodist Church Farragut, TN Job Details Part-time $15 an hour 2 days ago Qualifications Student supervision Storytelling activities for children Child safety supervision Safe environment creation Performing background checks Clean workspace maintenance Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a caring, dependable Church Nursery Teacher (at least 18 years old) to help lay a biblical foundation for our youngest children. This position plays an important role in supporting our church mission: "To create spaces that inspire others to cultivate faith, serve in mission, and engage the world with the love of Jesus." On a typical Sunday morning, the Nursery Teacher welcomes children from infancy through 2 years old during both the Sunday School hour (9:15 AM) and Worship Service (10:30 AM). All lessons, videos, crafts, and supplies are fully prepared for you each week. Your role is simply to engage with the children, offer loving care, and guide them through the provided activities. You will always serve alongside another nursery staff member. This is a flexible position, but reliability and consistency are important. Additional opportunities for paid hours will be available Sunday evenings (4:30 PM-6:00 PM starting September 13th) and during special events. Duties Provide a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment for infants through 2 year olds.. Lead the provided Sunday school curriculum, including videos, music, simple Bible lessons, games, and crafts. Supervise and engage children through play, conversation, and age-appropriate activities. Work cooperatively with another nursery staff member each Sunday. Communicate positively with parents and maintain a warm, friendly presence. Follow check-in and safety procedures at all times. Keep the nursery area clean, organized, and secure. Assist during special events or evening programs (optional additional hours). Qualifications A genuine love for caring for young children. Dependable, punctual, and able to commit to Sunday mornings from 9:00-11:45 AM . Comfortable leading simple Bible stories, videos, and age-appropriate activities. Ability to work well as part of a team. Prior experience with childcare or early childhood ministry is helpful, but not required. Must pass a background check before beginning employment. Must be able to follow safety guidelines and maintain a positive, Christ-centered environment. This role is ideal for someone seeking a consistent, low-stress Sunday job with purpose.
