Job Description

Center hours from 7 am to 4pm. Full-time position. Previous experience in a child care setting required and capable of teaching every age level we serve. Christian Center with children from 6 weeks to 6 years old. We work along with the Maryville City and Blount County school calendar. This allows us several unpaid breaks throughout the year. 5 day Fall break, 3 day Thanksgiving break, 2 week Christmas break, 1 week Spring Break, 2 week Summer Break the end of May/beginning of June. Summer is a limited schedule of T, W, Th 6 weeks during summer with a week off during July 4th. New School Year begins ends of July. Our focus is on providing a nurturing environment to assist in spiritual, cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and educational goals. We have an outstanding group of teachers and many of our children are from parents who attended here as children themselves. Candidate must strive to encourage every child to explore their world and their own capabilities, be reliable, enjoy working with others, and be a positive resource. Minimum requirements per State licensing guidelines: At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or a GED Background check Physician Health screening (not reimbursed), must be able to lift at least 40 lbs, and mentally capable of working with children. Approximately 11 hours of online courses before hiring and continuous education required (provided free of charge) Must obtain Adult, Child, Infant CPR and First Aid Training within 90 days. (free of charge)
Additionally:
Demonstrate professional habits and comply with all licensing guidelines, including accurate records and forms. Be prepared to lead children in prayer and teach biblical principals. Be able to work independently in a classroom setting and follow classroom schedule. Able to sit on ground and get up and down from floor
FREQUENTLY.
Cultivate positive relationships and frequent communication with parents with compassion and knowledge of appropriate expectations of children. Ensure proper hygiene of children and sanitation of classroom.
Benefits:
Paid Holidays (Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day, MLK, Jr. Day, Good Friday), 2 Floating holidays and a PTO plan. $15.50/hr No childcare available with position.
