You will provide a safe, engaging, and loving space for infants and preschoolers during church services and special events. Your enthusiasm and caring nature will help foster positive early childhood experiences, ensuring children feel secure and happy while their parents participate in worship and activities.
Sunday hours:
8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Responsibilities Create a warm, safe, and inviting environment for children in your care, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being at all times. Supervise children during church services, programs, and special events by engaging them in age-appropriate activities that promote learning and fun. Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding their child's needs, routines, or any concerns that arise during care. Follow all safety protocols including pediatric first aid, CPR procedures, and mandated reporting laws to ensure children's safety at all times. Assist with setting up the nursery space before activities and tidying up afterward to keep the environment clean and organized. Collaborate with church staff and volunteers to coordinate schedules, share observations about children's progress or behavior, and enhance the overall nursery experience. Requirements Previous experience working with children in settings such as daycare centers, preschools, babysitting, nannying, or similar environments is highly preferred. Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; pediatric first aid training is a plus. Familiarity with special education needs or experience working with children with disabilities is advantageous. Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children while demonstrating patience, compassion, and professionalism. Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and abuse prevention. Experience caring for infants through preschool-aged children including toddler care and infant care is essential. Must be able to pass a background check. Must have references.
