We are seeking compassionate and responsible childcare professionals who are committed to fostering a safe, engaging, and spiritually enriching atmosphere for children. Ministerial Character The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the parish of St. Joseph Catholic Church which the Bishop has entrusted to him. He makes Christ's mission present and enduring in the parish. In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them. Positions employed at St. Joseph Catholic Church help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children in a daycare setting Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development Foster a positive, inclusive environment aligned with Catholic values and teachings Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and daily activities Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in compliance with health and safety regulations Support children's individual needs and encourage respectful interactions among peers Assist with meal times, nap times, and other daily routines
Skills and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED acceptable to Texas Education Agency. Prior experience working with young children in a daycare or preschool setting preferred. Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate activities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a team and build positive relationships with children and families. Respect for and understanding of Catholic values and teachings. Certification in CPR and First Aid required or willingness to obtain. Reliable, patient, and nurturing demeanor. Additional childcare certifications are a plus. Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
Working Conditions:
All employees of the Parish are engaged in ministry and closely tied to the Pastor in the exercise of his ministry and obligations to the church. The Parish is an at-will employer. Working in a fast-paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly. Working on weekends, evenings, and some holidays may be required. Will be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech, including Roman Catholic Christian prayer and liturgical celebrations.
