Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant Director to support the daily operations of our Montessori school in Celina, TX. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood education, enjoys working with families and staff, and thrives in a leadership environment.
Key Responsibilities School Leadership & Daily Operations:
Support the Director in managing the school's daily functions to ensure a safe, nurturing, and well‑run environment Help maintain proper classroom ratios and ensure staffing coverage meets Texas CCL requirements Observe classroom environments to ensure Montessori principles and high‑quality practices are consistently followed Provide guidance, encouragement, and day‑to‑day support to teachers and classroom teams
Licensing, Records & Compliance:
Assist with maintaining compliance with all Texas Child Care Licensing rules and standards Keep staff documentation current, including training hours, background checks, and certifications Ensure student files (enrollment forms, health records, required documents) are complete and up to date Participate in safety checks, emergency preparedness procedures, and regulatory inspections
Staff Support & Team Development:
Help with onboarding, training, and supporting new staff members Monitor ongoing training requirements and ensure staff remain compliant Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and professional workplace culture
Family Communication & Community Engagement:
Serve as a secondary point of contact for parents, providing clear and supportive communication Assist in resolving parent questions or concerns with professionalism and empathy Build strong relationships with families to foster a welcoming school community Support enrollment tours, community events, and outreach activities
Administrative & Operational Support:
Assist with scheduling, classroom assignments, and daily operational planning Use school management systems and digital tools to maintain accurate records Identify operational challenges and help implement practical solutions Support the Director with administrative tasks as needed Qualifications Minimum age: 21 years Experience in early childhood education or childcare leadership preferred Knowledge of Texas Child Care Licensing regulations (or willingness to learn quickly) Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills Ability to lead with warmth, professionalism, and integrity Montessori experience is a plus but not required Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets insurance requirements
License/Certification:
