Job Description- Nursery Worker I.
General Information:
1. This is a permanent, part-time hourly paid position that reports to the Nursery Supervisor. 2. The number of employees supervised by this position is none. 3. Pay is $11.00/hour guaranteed pay for two (2) hours every Sunday even though time on site may be less. 4. There are no specific benefits with this position. II.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of three (3) years' experience working with children from newborn to school age. 2. Have own or access to transportation. 3. Clear a criminal background check. III.
Description:
The position provides care of children when parents or other family members are attending church activities. The individual is expected to provide a safe, caring, and supportive environment for the children. III.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility during the worship service is to observe and monitor the children's play and activities within the children's/parent's area to minimize noise as much as possible and to use good judgment in deciding to relocate a child to the nursery area. At the end of the worship service or scheduled activities ensure the children's area in the sanctuary and the nursery rooms are cleaned from any food or drink spillage: toys, books, and activity materials are collected and stored in the proper place. Attend proper hygiene from changing diaper, spit-ups, and other messes. Develop positive relationships with parents and other family members. Become knowledgeable of any allergies or special needs of any of the children. Ensure the proper check-in and check-out procedures are followed in the nursery. Complete an incident sheet as necessary if a negative incident were to occur and report the event to the nursery supervisor. Any other children support activities as assigned by the Supervisor. IV.
Work Schedule:
Sundays Mornings - 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Additional/Special Times as scheduled by the Nursery Supervisor.
