Job Description

Montessori Certified Teacher (Birth-3) & (3-6) We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Montessori Lead Teacher to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development following the Montessori approach to teaching while providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment. Must have at least two years of experience as a Montessori lead teacher. Provide a safe and healthy environment and treat each child with dignity and respect. Promoting positive discipline in the classroom so that there is respect for each other. Delivering Montessori lessons with the aim of promoting coordination, concentration, independence, and order. Preparing the environment daily so that it is inviting and appealing to the children. Maintain accurate records by using various assessment tools. Planning and carrying out conferences with the parents of the children in the class. Promoting good rapport among staff members. Ongoing professional development, participating in a professional organization and seeking new ideas and materials for use in the classroom with the children or to share with other staff members. Responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children. Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence. Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior. Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Employee Handbook Assists in other capacities that the Director or designee determines is necessary. Supervises daily activities of Assistant Teacher and be a mentor. Perform general cleaning duties inside the classroom and the outside environment on a daily and weekly basis. Observes all rules and regulations of the local, state, and national regulatory agencies pertaining to children's health, safety, and care of children.
Desired Skills and experience:
Must meet basic requirements of local childcare regulatory agency Previous teaching position in a licensed Montessori school preferred Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. Responsible, Punctual, and Organized Education:
Associate or higher degree (Preferred) Must have Pediatric CPR and First Aid Montessori certification required.
