Summary Ivybrook Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will support the Lead Educator in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for children ages 18 months to 6 years. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, values collaboration, and is passionate about helping each child grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Responsibilities Support the Lead Educator in implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment. Build positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff members. Assist with classroom setup, organization, and daily routines. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions. Observe children's development and share observations with the Lead Educator. Help maintain student records, portfolios, and classroom documentation as directed. Assist with preparing classroom materials and learning centers. Participate in staff meetings and school events. Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and school policies. Provide exceptional customer service to students, families, and the community. Requirements High school diploma or GED required. CDA credential or coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred. Previous experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, or educational setting is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to learn. Ability to work collaboratively with Lead Educators and other staff. Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day, including lifting up to 35 pounds, bending, sitting on the floor, and participating in indoor and outdoor activities. Job Requirements Priority given to candidates with a CDA, Associate's degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, or a related field. Previous experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or school setting is preferred. Must meet all requirements outlined in the Texas Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers for the position being filled. Must successfully complete all required background checks before employment.
