Job Description

Overview We are seeking a reliable and experienced Assistant Director to support daily operations at a small, family-style home daycare in Porter, TX. This role is ideal for someone with childcare experience who is organized, nurturing, and interested in growing into a leadership role within early childhood education. Duties Assist with the daily operation of the home daycare Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities Provide care for up to 7 children independently when needed Support lesson planning and structured daily routines Prepare daily snacks and lunch for the children Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment Communicate professionally with parents and families Ensure compliance with Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards Assist with basic administrative and organizational tasks when needed Qualifications Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred) Must Pass Background Check Proven experience working with children in daycare settings, including preschool, toddler care, or infant care environments Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices Experience with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus Prior experience in nannying or babysitting that involved caregiving for children of various ages is beneficial Must be flexible with schedule somedays ,including opening as early as 6:30 am or closing around 5:00 pm when needed.
