Pay:
$13.00-$16.00 (Depending on experience) Position Overview The Christian School at Castle Hills is seeking a compassionate, patient, dependable, and Christ-centered Preschool Resource Assistant to join our preschool team. The Preschool Resource Assistant will provide additional support to preschool students who may need extra assistance due to learning differences, autism, developmental needs, sensory sensitivities, behavioral challenges, potty training, or other individual needs. Essential Responsibilities Student Support Provide one-on-one or small-group support to preschool students who require additional assistance. Work patiently and compassionately with children who have learning differences, autism, developmental delays, sensory needs, or other individual needs. Assist children who may require additional support with communication, social interaction, classroom participation, and daily routines. Provide additional supervision and attention to children who may need help remaining engaged and safe. Help children transition between activities, classrooms, meals, outdoor play, nap time, and other daily routines. Encourage independence while providing appropriate assistance when needed. Behavioral and Emotional Support Respond calmly and appropriately to tantrums, crying, frustration, aggression, throwing objects, or other challenging behaviors. Help children learn appropriate ways to communicate their needs and emotions. Follow classroom and school behavior-management procedures. Provide reassurance and redirection when children become overwhelmed or overstimulated. Recognize potential triggers and help create a calm and supportive environment. Maintain close communication with the lead teacher regarding student behavior, progress, concerns, and successes. Maintain appropriate boundaries while providing children with the additional attention and support they need. Support for the Lead Preschool Teacher Work as a team with the lead preschool teacher and other classroom staff. Assist with classroom preparation, organization, cleaning, and maintaining a safe learning environment. Help prepare and organize classroom materials and activities.
