Job Description
Lead Teacher Job Description Role:
Responsible for meeting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of a group of young children 3 days a week (Tuesday-Thursday) from 8:30 am-2:30pm in collaboration with the Director. Is under the general supervision of the Mother's Day Out Director or Assistant Director. Responsible for the execution of weekly curriculums and maintaining a method of ongoing communication with parents to ensure the best possible educational environment for each child.Qualifications:
We are seeking individuals who enjoy working with young children and who demonstrate patience, love, and gentleness with children. Must be able to lift and comfort a small child (weighing up to forty pounds), be able to get up and down from the floor, and pass a background check, and work well with others. Ideal candidates will be willing to work with us for multiple years as we have transitioned from an MDO to a preschool.Duties:
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and attractive learning environment indoors and out.
- Communicate with parents.
- Use teachable moments to reinforce biblical concepts.
- Collaborate, communicate and work well with assistant teacher and MDO staff.
- Assist in the implementation of daily plans that are developmentally appropriate.
- Provide opportunities and support for children to develop self-discipline.
- Maintain confidentiality of children and family information.
- Participate in recommended and approved training programs, conferences and staff meetings.
- Negotiate and resolve conflicts.
- Manage time well…..such as report to work on time….. and manage children's time by following a daily schedule.
- Participate as a member of a team.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by superiors.
