Job Description
A to Z Building Blocks is looking for a dependable, energetic team member who enjoys working with children and is excited to help wherever they're needed. In this unique role, you'll spend most of your time supporting classrooms across our locations, building relationships with children and teachers of all ages. When our cooks are away, you'll also step into the kitchen to prepare meals and snacks for our children. Pay & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and education Paid training Free meals during your shift Health insurance options Professional development opportunities Growth and advancement opportunities Schedule Monday-Friday No weekends Hours vary based on the needs of our centers Must be flexible and willing to travel between all A to Z Building Blocks locations, including: American Fork, Orem, Eagle Mountain, and Spanish Fork Reliable transportation is required Travel is part of this position and mileage between assigned locations is not reimbursed Why You'll Love Working Here No two days are the same Work with children of all ages Gain experience in both classrooms and food service Join a supportive leadership team Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Make a meaningful difference in the lives of children every day What You'll Do Support infant, toddler, preschool, and school-age classrooms Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members Follow classroom routines, lesson plans, and licensing requirements Assist children with meals, diapering, potty training, hygiene, and daily routines Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn and grow Step into the kitchen as a substitute cook when needed Prepare and serve meals and snacks following CACFP guidelines Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen Assist with food preparation, dishes, and kitchen organization Travel between centers to provide support wherever it's needed most We're Looking For Someone Who Loves working with children Enjoys variety and learning new things Is dependable with excellent attendance Can quickly adapt to different classrooms, teams, and locations Is comfortable helping in both classrooms and kitchens Works well independently and as part of a team Maintains a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment Is willing to jump in wherever support is needed Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older Valid driver's license with a good driving record Must be willing to complete A to Z bus driver training and drive company buses when needed Reliable transportation Willing and able to travel between our American Fork, Orem, Eagle Mountain, and Spanish Fork locations Child care or daycare experience preferred Food service experience is a plus but not required—we will train the right person CPR/First Aid certification and Food Handler Permit (or willingness to obtain) Able to lift up to 50 pounds Able to pass all required background checks About A to Z Building Blocks At A to Z Building Blocks, we believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where they can learn and grow.
