Assistant Teacher The Peacock Montessori Glen Allen, VA Job type Full-time / Part-time Schedule Monday to Friday Day shift Job description The Peacock Montessori is seeking a warm, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our Montessori preschool community in Glen Allen. We serve children ages 3½ to 6 years in a calm, respectful, and nurturing environment that supports independence, curiosity, and a love of learning. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children, works well as part of a team, and is willing to support the daily needs of a Montessori classroom. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in preparing and maintaining the Montessori classroom environment Support children during classroom work time, transitions, snack/lunch, rest time, and outdoor play Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom Prepare and arrange classroom materials and learning activities as directed Guide children with patience, kindness, and respect Support children's independence, social development, and daily routines Help supervise children indoors and outdoors Follow school policies and health/safety procedures Communicate professionally and respectfully with staff and families Qualifications Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred Childcare, preschool, or Montessori experience is a plus Caring, patient, reliable, and organized Able to work collaboratively in a team environment Passion for working with young children in a nurturing educational setting Must meet employment requirements for childcare staff in Virginia Preferred qualities Calm and positive presence in the classroom Love for working with children ages 3½-6 Interest in Montessori philosophy and early childhood education Strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and warmth Work location The Peacock Montessori 5970 Springfield Road Glen Allen, VA 23060 To apply Please send your resume or inquiry to: info@thepeacockmontessori.com 804-446-6166
