Come be a part of something that matters! We're seeking qualified applicants for a part-time Daycare Assistant. This position will provide childcare and assist in a daycare program for the County at a designated location. The successful candidate will possess time management, maintain open communication with children, parents, and staff, and problem-solving skills. We are currently hiring for the following location(s): The multiple work locations are outlined in the supplementary questions. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Monitors children's behavior, communication, and engagement in program activities; follows established staff-to-student ratios and protocols for supervision and interaction with children. Facilitate the planning and execution of educational and recreational activities for children in Day Care; address the personal care requirements of the children, and manage the organization of equipment, supplies, and meal provisions. Maintains helpful and professional communication with parents, site personnel, and staff, and responds to parent inquiries and requests. Prioritizes the health and safety of children in the program; performs and documents daily person, site health, and safety checks. M ay carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the role and departmental assignment. High School diploma or equivalent and six months of program experience with children.
Preferred Qualifications:
Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate. Knowledge of childhood development. Ability to learn program requirements quickly. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately. Ability to design developmentally appropriate activities for preschool children. Must undergo pre-employment fingerprinting and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks. Pass TB test within 30 days of hire and each year thereafter. First Aid/CPR certifications prior to hire or immediately upon hire. Take OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens and Daily Health Check training within 30 days of hire. MAT training within 90 days of hire. Must annually complete a sworn disclosure statement or affirmation disclosing any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges.
