Twos/Threes Childcare Teacher

Madison Learning Center is accepting applications for a 2/3 year old lead teacher. If you love working with children and have at least 6 months experience in a classroom setting, we would love to talk! Salary depends on experience and education. The Lead Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Lead Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Lead Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher aides, and resolve parental concerns. Preferred candidates should be capable of working at ratio independently, practice active supervision and have excellent attendance. Must be willing to follow VDOE licensing guidelines as well as MLC policy. This position may work independently or with a co-lead/aide. This position may also work with any age infants through school-age.

Requirements:

Must be minimum 18 years of age. High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 6 months full-time experience working with children in a classroom setting. Strong oral and written communication skills. High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment. The ability to take frequent walks, stand for extended time, use hands and fingers, lift children (up to 40 lbs), talk to and hear voices at many levels, kneel, bend, squat or crawl. Must interact one on one, hands on, with children majority of the day. Flexibility to work a shift any time between opening and closing hours. Reliable attendance to ensure consistency of care as required by licensing standards. Excellent leadership skills.
