A Preschool or Childcare Teacher works with young children, usually ages 3 - 5, to help them learn the social, motor and language skills needed to be ready for kindergarten and elementary school. Organizes activities and uses play or games to help children learn; develops schedules and routines for children that include exercise and rest. Works in a school or in a childcare center or program.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the daily supervision and management of a primary care group of up to 10 children, Ranging from 1 year- 4 years of age. Plans, implements, and supervises the class's daily program according to the philosophy of LeafSpring School. Incorporates principles of age-appropriate growth and development and developmentally appropriate practice in daily lesson plans. Must be willing to complete the Virginia Preservice Training (10-hr training) during orientation if hired.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
6+ months of programmatic experience , working in a licensed and/or accredited child care facility required. High School Diploma required. Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, or another child-related field. (assistance available for those who want to further their degree!) Does not have scheduling restrictions between the hours of 6:45 am-6:15 pm We will train you and give you valuable industry experience. Daycare, nanny, summer camp, babysitting, Montessori, and Reggio-Emilio experience welcome!
