This role is for a strong educator who can balance learning, care, and classroom leadership while supporting the overall development of young children. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans (literacy, math, STEM, and social-emotional learning) Provide daily care for children, including supervision, meal prep, serving breakfast/lunch/snacks, and maintaining a clean, organized classroom environment Establish and maintain structured classroom routines and positive behavior management Monitor and assess student progress using VKRP assessments Maintain attendance, communication, and documentation through Brightwheel Ensure full compliance with Virginia licensing standards (VQB5/VQR) and center policies Work collaboratively with families, staff, and community partners Support children's individual needs, including early intervention when necessary Qualifications Must be 18 years or older Minimum Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field High School Diploma or GED required CDA (Child Development Associate) or equivalent certification accepted 3-5 years of childcare/preschool experience (Lead Teacher experience preferred) Knowledge of child development, classroom management, and curriculum planning Familiarity with VKRP assessments Experience with Brightwheel or similar childcare software Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work in a Christian, faith-based environment Pay & Schedule $18-$20 per hour , based on qualifications Part-time position (up to 37 hours per week), Monday-Friday Additional Information Only candidates who meet qualifications will be contacted for an interview
