Childcare Worker

The Village Childcare is a small, nurturing in-home childcare program located in the Church Hill neighborhood of Richmond. Our program focuses on creating a calm, engaging environment where children learn through play, exploration, and hands-on activities Position Overview The Childcare Assistant supports the lead provider in maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging environment for young children. This role includes helping with daily routines, supervising play, assisting with meals, and supporting learning activities. Key Responsibilities Assist with supervision of children during play and daily activities Support meal and snack preparation and cleanup Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment Assist with outdoor play and transitions throughout the day Support age-appropriate activities such as sensory play, reading, art, and movement Provide nurturing care and positive interactions with children Follow safety and childcare regulations Schedule Part-time hours, approximately 10-20 hours weekly (hours may vary depending on enrollment and program needs). Compensation $15 per hour Qualifications Interest in working with young children Reliable and punctual Patient, caring, and positive attitude Ability to follow safety procedures Previous childcare experience preferred but not required Requirements Must pass a background check in accordance with Virginia childcare regulations CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Must be at least 18 years old Ability to provide references if requested

Pay:

$15.00 per hour
