We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and understands that childcare requires patience, initiative, consistency, and active participation throughout the entire day. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will: Be reliable, punctual, and maintain consistent attendance Be energetic, attentive, and actively engaged with children throughout the day Take initiative and be willing to assist wherever needed Have previous childcare or early childhood education experience Be familiar with Virginia childcare licensing requirements and state standards Have experience creating and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities Assist with preparing, serving, and cleaning up meals and snacks Assist with diaper changes, toileting, handwashing, and other personal care needs Maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness throughout the classroom Assist with classroom routines, transitions, nap time, and daily activities Have strong classroom management skills and appropriately redirect toddler behaviors Communicate professionally with children, parents, coworkers, and administration Work well as part of a team and be able to follow direction Help maintain a safe, nurturing, organized, and structured classroom environment Position Expectations This is a hands-on and active position . Teacher Assistants are expected to interact with the children, participate in activities, assist with meals and diapering, help maintain classroom cleanliness, and share responsibility for the daily needs of the classroom. We are specifically looking for someone who takes initiative, stays productive, and recognizes what needs to be done without requiring constant direction. Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential for this position. Qualifications Previous experience working in a licensed childcare setting preferred Knowledge of toddler development and age-appropriate practices Experience creating and implementing lesson plans Familiarity with Virginia childcare licensing standards preferred Must be comfortable with diapering, toileting, and meal-related responsibilities Must be able to meet all state-required background check, health, and training requirements Must be dependable and committed to maintaining a consistent work schedule If you are reliable, hardworking, nurturing, energetic, and passionate about helping young children learn and grow , we would love to hear from you!
