Job Description
The Plymouth Schoolhouse licensed childcare is accepting applications for a Lead Toddler Teacher. The position would start in August of 2026. We value creativity, kindness and community, and helping children find the wonder in the world around them. We look forward to welcoming a new person to the staff, so we can continue to best serve our surrounding communities with providing high quality childcare in a small setting. Our emergent curriculum recognizes the importance of play and strives to create connections with the natural world. Teachers plan curriculum based on the demonstrated interests of children and the belief that children actively engage in the construction of their own knowledge. The classrooms are set up to be a teacher in itself and values natural light, green plants, quality materials and toys in warm, welcoming atmospheres. The program is located in the former Plymouth Elementary School and has a large playground, blacktop, forest classroom and garden beds.
DutiesCoordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standardsLead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
Ensure a healthy classroom environment including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
