Job Description
PreK Teacher Opening Leap Frog Nursery School has an opening for a PreK Teacher. Our school is a 5 STAR, Vermont State Licensed, Act 166 prequalified private preschool in Poultney, Vermont. We are currently seeking a highly qualified PreK teacher with a Vermont State teaching license who holds an endorsement in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Special Education. The individual we seek will provide engaging and meaningful prek experiences in our four-year-old classroom. An ideal candidate will love working with children, have a great sense of humor, the ability to engage young children in play-based learning, and enjoy teaching. Leap Frog Nursery School prides itself on having the highest quality preschool rating available in the state and looks to add a dynamic and exceptional teacher. We use the outdoors as a classroom environment offering nature-based learning experiences as part of a collaboration with the traditional classroom. Candidates will help students develop kindergarten readiness and social-emotional skills. Design a learning environment that guides and encourages students to be creative and strengthens a child's love for learning while fulfilling their academic potential. Creating a warm and nurturing relationship with each child, designing an environment that is safe and friendly and stimulates curiosity and being organized and reliable are qualities that our candidate must possess. Using observation and assessment tools, including Teaching Strategies Gold, is required of this position and the teacher is responsible for documenting each child's growth and learning in relation to his or her developmental level based on the Vermont Early Learning Standards. Candidates must have a wide and vast understanding of developmentally appropriate classroom practices and behavioral management, work well collaboratively in groups, and possess positive communication skills. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or early childhood special education and be a licensed teacher in the state of Vermont as well as be certified in Teaching Strategies Gold Interrater Reliability, CPR & First Aid Certificate, Vermont Mandatory Reporter Training and Vermont Orientation Training Certificate.
