Job Description

Head Start Lead Teacher $22.52-$26.87/hour, Generous benefits including: paid time off, medical/dental, paid training. Full time (2 hours / day of paid prep time). Rutland County Head Start is seeking dedicated early childhood education Lead Teachers to join our comprehensive, integrated, and family-centered early childhood program. Rutland County Head Start embraces a unified approach that fosters teamwork and engages in partnership with the children and families we serve. This position is on site and requires a person to be able to reliably commute to Rutland, Vermont. The closing date to apply is September 4th at noon.
Lead Teachers are responsible for:
Leading and managing a classroom Developing a caring, supportive atmosphere for children and their parents Providing an effective learning environment within the classroom with the focus on school readiness skills Collaborating with other teachers and staff to support each individual child's needs.

Successful completion of a criminal history background check after hire. Head Start is a federally-funded, national child and family development program which provides comprehensive services for pregnant women, children from birth to age five, and their families. Services for children promote school readiness, and include early education, health, nutrition, mental health, and services for children with special needs. Services for parents promote family engagement, and include parent leadership and social service supports.
