Preschool- Early Childhood Teacher - Mandarin Speaking

The International Friends School is looking for an experienced and inspirational Early Childhood Educator to lead a class of preschool students. We hire teachers with strong developmentally appropriate practice, a background in creative & engaging learning and an understanding of the Reggio Emilia teaching philosophy. Set in 2 acres of private forest, IFS is leading a bold mission to educate children to become biliterate, morally well grounded and full of ideas. Our early childhood program is strongly focused on Reggio Emilia learning and the emergent curriculum, but also art, music and community minded work. We emphasize praise, love and supporting each child individually. Our Teachers need to be Mandarin speakers and have a strong understanding that there is nothing casual about education. It is an intentional, thoughtful and reflective field that requires strong organization. We are very supportive of professional development and helping teachers to discover their best practices. We need teachers with at least two years of experience in early childhood (toddler years preferred) and well practiced in formal and informal assessment, lesson planning and communicating with parents of both Mandarin proficient families and non-Mandarin proficient. At least two years of Lead Teaching in a creative and vibrant early childhood setting. Experience, and love, with children aged 2-3 years old A developmentally appropriate practice with young children (safety, nurturance) A Mandarin proficient speaker A strong understanding of tracking milestones, assessment, curriculum planning, collaboration and communication with parents A bachelors degree, teaching credential desired. Masters is preferred A disciplined and organized teaching practice A team player who will work closely with the early childhood team Availability to begin work middle of December 2023, with a start of January 3, 2024.
